Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma – aka ‘Travishek’ – launched a characteristically savage assault against the Punjab Kings attack to reach an eye-watering 105-0 in the six-over Power Play after Punjab opted to bowl first in their Tata IPL match at the Yadavindra Singh Stadium in Chandigarh on Saturday afternoon.
Abhishek reached 50 from 18 balls with five fours and five sixes with Head following some distance in his slipstream with 31* from 15 balls. Opening bowler Arshdeep Singh was mauled for 33 from two overs but that was tame compared to the 24 runs which came from seamer Vijaykumar Vyshak’s opening over.
Sunrisers were 84-0 after five overs and duly reached three figures when Australian seamer Xavier Bartlett (2-0-31-0) bowled a full-toss no-ball as 21 came from the sixth over. At the strategic time-out Abhishek had 66* from only 22 balls with seven sixes.
