Opener Sai Sudharsan thoroughly dominated an unbroken first-wicket partnership of 57 with Shubman Gill as the Gujarat Titans reached 57-0 in the Power Play after being asked to bat first in their Tata IPL match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday evening.
Sudharsan was 46 not out after the first six overs with captain Gill happy to play the junior role with just nine from as many deliveries.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2-0-16-0) and Josh Hazlewood (2-0-17-0) posed no threat with the new ball but, on one of India’s highest scoring grounds, the Titans start was only a little better than average.
