Taking to the Kaseya Centre, Prochazka had fans pumped early on in the fight, as he found success on his feet with a series of punches that caught Ulberg’s attention.
However, Ulberg’s resolve was tested after suffering what appeared to be rupture in his right knee as he looked to make a reply with one leg during the embryonic stages of the bout. ‘
Then, as the fourth minute approached, Prochazka powered forward but crashed to the canvas after Ulberg connected with a strong left hook. Amid a sudden turn of events, Ulberg finished the fight with a brutal ground and pound before the referee stepped in to stop the fight.
Speaking after the fight, the new UFC Light Heavyweight champion expressed that nothing would stand in his way despite having issues with his knee heading into the fight.
“Nothing was going to stop me,” Ulberg said.
“What I was in that octagon, although we knew we had this issue with the leg, I knew that nothing was going to stop me from getting that win
“The main thing now is to go back and assess this leg, get back to the A-game and see if we can come back as soon as possible.”
